Our Staff

Paul Carmody – Director

Paul was born in Brisbane and grew up on the Northside in Deagon. He began working at the age of fifteen stocking shelves at Franklins whilst attending school at St Patrick’s College Shorncliffe. Paul worked at Franklins for four years and moved schools to Sandgate High where he completed his Senior Certificate.

For four years he worked for Aspect, an electrical company laying electrical earthworks and connecting the lights for the Queensland Motorways Brisbane.

After this Paul began his apprenticeship with Group Training under a local painting business in Kalinga.

Paul has always been a driven person with a genuine passion for painting and people. He has great vision and enthusiasm for the business and he has always worked hard to achieve the best results and to ensure his clients are happy.

Paul is now married to Danielle.

 

Christopher Day – Head Foreman

 

 

 

 

Chris has been in the building and painting industry in Brisbane for over 14 years. Before starting his apprenticeship Chris worked as a brick layers laborer and learnt a lot about the trade industry. Chris completed his apprenticeship with Group Training under the same local painter as Paul in Kalinga and he also worked under a local company in Ascot. As a tradesman he began work with another painting company in Ascot, where he left to begin working with PJ Carmody Painting & Decorating in 2007.

Chris brings with him a strong understanding of high quality workmanship and he is known in our company for his attention to detail and his ability to perform to schedule and meet deadlines. He is conscientious and persistent attitude to motivate our workers ensures that everyone carries out their jobs to the highest standards expected from us at PJ Carmody Painting and Decorating.

Chris is married to Chrissie and they live on Brisbane’s Northside with their beautiful family.

 

Wayne Carmody- Tradesman and Supervisor

Wayne grew up on Brisbane’s Northside. He completed his High School Certificate at St Patricks College Shorncliffe. Wayne has worked in various different jobs where has learnt many new skills. When he first left school he worked for Bradman Windows and doors where he completed an installation traineeship. For the next three to four years he worked with Qld Transport in bridge construction in grade 3 form work and foundations. He has also worked for Franklins, Bunnings, and Terrex Lifting where he held a supervisor position. Wayne also has first aid training and holds his fork lift license. He holds many important qualities to our company as he as been in the industry for over 10 years now. He is always practical, resourceful and reliable. He tries to offer our clients relevant, helpful and important information about painting, allowing our clients to make the right decision for their individual needs.

Wayne is married to Julie and they live on Brisbane’s Northside with their two  gorgeous daughters Holly and Mackenzie.

Codey James  – Tradesman and Supervisor

Codey grew up on Brisbane’s Eastside. He went to school locally in Carina and completed his High School Certificate at Cavendish Road High School. After leaving school he worked with Australia Post for a year and then went on to work as a labourer in concreting and carpentry. At the age of 19 he decided to do his apprenticeship with Group Training Queensland under a Balmoral painting company.

Codey has worked with us for 5 years now. With almost 10 years’ painting experience Codey brings a strong knowledge in painting and a good positive attitude to our team. He is trustworthy, honest, respectful, and is always looking for ways to help our clients.

Codey lives with his lovely partner Nicki on Brisbane’s Eastside.

 

Danielle Carmody – Administration

Danielle is the eldest of four children and she grew up in Carlingford, NSW. She completed her High School Certificate at Cheltenham Girls High and then continued her education completing a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Health Science at the University of Western Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Education at the University of Technology.

From a young age Danielle has learnt the importance of a strong affiliation between education and business from her parents. Danielle’s father an entrepreneur and successful business owner of Australian Business Week, and her mother a well established and successful head teacher at Carlingford High School. At an early age she was taught the importance of continuous learning whether it be through workshops, reading, lectures, or even talking to other people in the industry.

Now back to working part time as a teacher with Education Queensland. Danielle also assists with website information and minor administration. She enjoys working with her husband Paul. Together they are determined to ensure that as a business we continue our learning in the job and that our employees always feel that they have the right skills necessary to complete their work to the highest standard.
